Purpose
Established in 2007, The Albrecht Family Foundation recognizes the hope and pride the Douglas Albrecht family has for the Greater St. Louis region. Settling in St. Louis after college, Doug spent his entire business career with the Taylor family of Enterprise Rent-a-Car. He was President and CEO of Centric Group until his retirement in 2007. He and his wife, Anne, a native of Kirkwood, raised three sons. The sons graduated from out-of-state universities, but returned to St. Louis with renewed enthusiasm for its attributes. Barry Albrecht teaches high school English; Craig Albrecht is the President of Betallic, a manufacturer of balloons; Ted Albrecht is the President of Bodley Group, a private equity company.
The Albrecht family embraces entrepreneurial approaches to business and social issues and admires creativity that fosters new opportunities.
The family has made significant gifts to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the University of Missouri and John Burroughs School.
Gifts
Ninety percent of the Foundation’s gifts will range from $1,000 to $10,000. The Foundation seeks organizations for whom a gift of that size will have a measurable impact.
